Exhibition | Beyond the Podium: Snapshots, History, and Art

Among the special projects for the tenth anniversary of the event is also Beyond the Podium: Snapshots, History, and Art, an interdisciplinary exhibition set up by renowned architects Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba of the Palomba Serafini Associati studio. It will be displayed from February 12 to 17 at Palazzo Castiglioni, provided by Confcommercio Milano – Lodi – Monza and Brianza.

The exhibition features archival material from MuseoCity, including author photographs by Filippo Romano and the film "Mondi a Milano" (2023, directed by Giovanni Pitscheider, produced with the support of MUMAC Museo della Macchina per Caffè of Cimbali Group), alongside objects and artworks related to the world of sports and the Olympic spirit, sourced from ten institutions within the MuseoCity network, including Fondazione Dompé and Fondazione ISEC, which is participating for the first time. For this occasion, Thermore, a leading company in thermal padding for clothing, collaborates with MuseoCity to present an exclusive garment illustrated by artist Jacopo Ascari, celebrating the brand's unbreakable bond with the territory, innovation, and Milanese elegance.

The exhibition also includes a new photographic project by internationally renowned fashion photographer Giampaolo Sgura, created as part of Olympism Made Visible, an initiative promoted by the Olympic Museum located in Lausanne, Switzerland. Immersed in rehearsals and backstage moments during the preparations for the Opening Ceremony of Milano Cortina 2026, Giampaolo Sgura captured the people, costumes, and collective energy that animate the show, offering visitors an artistic and deeply human insight behind the scenes just days after the ceremony.
