The selected work is a volume curated by Oliviero Toscani with photographs by his sister Marirosa Toscani Ballo, published by the magazine COLORS, founded in 1991 by Oliviero Toscani and Tibor Kalman with the support of United Colors of Benetton.
The book embodies the close relationship between art and business, which in this case materializes in a volume that playfully breaks one of society's taboos. Toscani is known worldwide for his provocative vision. He introduces Cacas as follows: “It’s a natural thing, like breathing: yet many of us can’t stand to look at it… And woe to mention it in society. It’s one of the last taboos of the ‘civilized’ world. It’s time to pay homage to shit.”
Flipping through the Kasa dei Libri copy, you will also discover a dedication made by Oliviero Toscani to Kasa owner Andrea Kerbaker.
