Meditation

analog black photography mounted backlit on a light box

A photosensitive paper exposed to a vast number of negatives no longer retains the information of individual images, so the excessive amount of information darkens the photosensitive surface, rendering the images invisible.
This 'image of all images' reflects the observer when they stand before it. The work is backlit, producing light in the opposite direction to that of the observer, towards the wall behind the black mirror: this aura reveals its presence.
Each Meditation is a metaphor for our overexposure to the images of the world and their gluttonous constant consumption. What remains today to photograph, still devoid of the presence of an already existing image?
Meditation is a blind gaze and an opportunity to see, a denied and revealed light, the absence from which a presence is born. These abstract, timeless, achromatic, and reflective photographs, like black mirrors, are meditations on photography, on the subject, and on reality simultaneously.
The image emerges from the ashes of the visible, from the end of every possible photographic representation.
