A unique opportunity to discover the potential of touch, experience darkness, and encounter art in a new way, guided by qualified blind or visually impaired guides!
All this is “The Art of Touch,” an experience where visitors can explore and train the surprising potential of the sense of touch.
“The hands are the external brain of man,” asserted philosopher Immanuel Kant, and it is precisely based on this idea that The Art of Touch aims to stimulate this particular form of intelligence, offering visitors a sensory journey structured in degrees.
It starts with recognizing materials and shapes, first very simple and gradually more complex: step by step, the darkness becomes a friend, and one will be amazed to feel their hands glide over objects with increasing speed and confidence, culminating in this sensory journey when the beauty of artistic masterpieces from antiquity is revealed under their fingers: the plaster casts from the Louvre Museum in Paris, faithful reproductions of celebrated sculptures of the past specifically intended for tactile enjoyment.
