Turandot, Giacomo Puccini's last unfinished opera, is an emblematic title of the innovative role played by Casa Ricordi in transforming Italian opera from a local high craftsmanship to a cultural industry on a global scale. The Historical Archive Ricordi preserves all documentation related to the gestation of Turandot, from Puccini's last pencil sketches to the designs by Galileo Chini and the posters by Leopoldo Metlicovitz—artists from various backgrounds and artistic currents united by Ricordi's entrepreneurial spirit in creating works with a recognizable and exportable visual and sound identity worldwide. During Museo Segreto, visitors will be able to admire the autograph of Puccini's unfinished masterpiece score, alongside all the materials used for the opera's staging (sketches, costumes, drafts of the finale) highlighting the "production machine" of the Ricordi publisher.
