Vicus Boldonis... terra di marcite
Federica Galli
Fondazione Federica Galli ETS
1998
etching
In 1998, Federica Galli created the etching Vicus Boldonis... land of marshes on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the completion of the Abbey of Viboldone. The edition of 100 copies was entirely intended to finance restoration work on the Abbey.
In 2026, twenty-eight years after Federica Galli's endeavor, the foundation established by her testamentary will is committed to fundraising for the new restorations of the Abbey in celebration of the 850th anniversary of the laying of the first stone. Doing business in the world of culture means creating positive synergies and aiming for common goals, convinced of the goodness of the project. Following Galli's generosity, the Foundation is proposing a limited edition from the original matrix of the etching Vicus Boldonis... land of marshes for the first time since its inception, to continue supporting Federica Galli's commitment to the protection and preservation of an exemplary place for art, history, and spirituality like the Abbey of Viboldone. For the occasion of MuseoCity, in addition to the etching in its double edition, the original zinc matrix and the folder Vicus Boldonis printed in 1998 with texts by Carlo Bo, Aldo Gasparini, and Gian Alberto Dell’Acqua will also be on display.
