The secret work is the wooden model of the observatory tower designed by Ruggiero Boscovich and built in 1765, which was the first home of the Brera Astronomical Observatory. The building consisted of three levels: the first floor was divided into six rooms that housed observation instruments, clocks, the library, and other services; the second floor contained a large octagonal room where the main telescopes were used; on the third floor, there was a terrace and two conical domes for smaller instruments. Boscovich himself commissioned the model in early 1765 to present the project to his superiors at the Brera College and to the governor of Milan.
