The AEM Foundation was established in June 2007 by AEM S.p.A. (now A2A), with the task of safeguarding the historical memory and enhancing the corporate culture developed by AEM over more than a century of activity. The municipal electricity company has played a fundamental role in the economic development and social and cultural modernization of Milan and Lombardy, exerting a profound influence on the lifestyles, behaviors, and attitudes of Milanese society and the inhabitants of other areas where it operated: from Valtellina to Cassano d’Adda, to Sesto San Giovanni.
