Archivio Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck
Via Marco Antonio Bragadino 220144 Milano
The archive of Pharaildis Van den Broeck is kept in what has been her studio since September 2008. It contains some materials related to her work as a designer and all materials regarding her activity as an artist, except for a few works donated to family and friends, one sold and currently in a private collection, and 50 paintings and drawings kept in her husband Michele Sagramoso's house.
The materials and works were produced throughout the time the artist dedicated herself to painting, from 1994 until May 2014, when she passed away. Five different types of materials have been identified:
Works: about 2000 works including paintings on canvas, paintings on newspaper, series, sculptures, mixed-media assemblages, unfinished works, and over 2000 sketches;
Folders: 90 ring binders containing sketches, studies, reproductions of works, samples of painting materials;
Painting materials: wooden boxes containing pigments, colors, brushes, spatulas, and various materials used for painting;
Library: about 1000 books and catalogs divided by subject (visual arts, applied and decorative arts, photography, fashion, costume, architecture, design, cinema, various); about 300 fashion and art magazines and brochures (yet to be inventoried);
Fashion materials: 16 boxes containing folders and catalogs from various collections (Trussardi, Versace, Missoni, Phara Vanden, Nicole Catulle, Papita Faber, and others); drawings and sketches (inventoried, to be cataloged) and various materials.
A digital archive is also present, resulting from the ongoing inventory and cataloging work since 2015:
