Pasticceria Cucchi ospita Officina Rancilio 1926

Open Monday to Sunday, 7:30-21:30

The grinder with the name Trieste, was one of the first product of Rancilio with the collaboration of a designer.

Giovanni Travasa was a famous architect and designer of Parabiago.

He also was a friend of Roberto Rancilio and in 1956 he decided to call Travasa as a designer of two new coffee bar machine: Ducale and Alpina.

Thanks to the collaboration with Pasticceria Cucchi, the museum OFFICINA RANCILIO 1926 wants to valorize a lesser-known part of its collection.

The museum preserves about twenty grinder made from the 1950s to the 1980s.

The grinder is a fundamental element to produce a good coffee and for this reason it is an object always placed near the coffee machine.

The Trieste grinder is the first grinder with an aesthetic designed and created by a designer external to the company.

Designed by Giovanni Travasa, it was created to be placed next to the machines made by Rancilio at the end of the 1950s.

The firs series was in a coffee color, than this grinder was produced in different colors that matched the machines it was placed next to on the bar counters.
